Just watch out for the cover charge ($20 post-midnight!). If you’re looking to stay up late in the city, Voyeur is the place to go. While Woody’s is respectable in size and more low-key in its presentation, the large scale Voyeur building is a more mainstream space focused on nightclub adventures. The two establishments have a joint venture where they often host bargain deals for entry and connecting events. Then right across from Woody’s is the popular Voyeur nightclub. Honestly, the fact that Woody’s is so well-known has made it what I call “The straight woman’s gay bar.” That said, it’s still the mecca of the gayborhood and should always be respected as such. It’s known by everyone and is a tourist hotspot, but it’s not necessarily the most representative of local life. The lack of the other 3 stars are for Isaac and his abuse of power and the (higher) people he has behind him that allow it for someone whos been going there faithfully for almost a decade but its a fun after hour I miss it terribly. But caution, Woody’s mainstream appeal has made it the gay bar equivalent to the Philly cheesesteak staple Genos. So the 2 stars are for Alexa, Bartenders Vuk Rob Alex and Dom, Bouncers G, Muhammad, Dan etc ALL PHENOMENAL PEOPLE. I cant even meetup with my friends there anymore. Besides her no one stood up for me to talk to someone to tell him thats not right and an abuse of power. The only person who tried to help was Alexa shes amazing she is. 9 yrs ive been going to this club and just like that I was banned because of how someone feels about me personally. All because I wont greet him anymore Now the security outside Dan, Muhammad, G and etc (who are like my brothers) wont let me in. He told me "if u feel like you need to take a step back from me you need to take a step back from this club" gave me my admission money back and had me escorted out the club and Isaac told them to not let me back in.just like that. My experience in voyuer turned sour when I stopped speaking to the head of security Isaac, I greeted him n Woodys and he mustve been n a bad mood so he brushed me off with an attitude like he didnt want to be bothered which was fine so I stopped speaking to him next thing I know weeks later where in Voyuer he pulled me to the side n asked if I had any "animosity" with him I said no I jus took a step back from him. I know the bartenders Rob Dom Vuk Alex there all great guys with great service ive known them for years. Im 30yrs old and have been going to this club since I was 21 I have always had a good time there I've even brought friends that never heard of the place to the establishment. They're always friendly and are proactive about suggesting refillsCost: $$Bottom Line: You WILL impress your date with this hidden gem of a spot See All Reviews I would probably eat first before coming here, but I think I'm going to try their deviled eggs next time.Hours: They close at 1amService: Everyone that works there seems to love their job. Umm, they are strong too, so be prepared to be feeling incredible after 2 :)Food: I've never had their food, but they have a couple of options. The flavors are interesting and the names are fun too. My usual favorite is the Mymosa, but I've been branching out and recently tried the Wild Boy.

Drinks: They have an extensive cocktail menu. I usually judge a place on if they take the time to make the restrooms special, and here, they've wallpapered them in comic books! The rest of the decor is simple, and understated. As a designer, the design is always important to me. Downstairs is a tiny bar, while upstairs is a lounge. It's small and relatively quiet, so it makes the perfect date spot, because you can actually have a conversation. I've been telling everyone how much I love Writer's Block, so I thought it was time to write a review.Atmosphere: Even though it's a cocktail bar, it has a chill non-pretentious vibe.
